When in Doubt . . . Thrift!

The shop was busy and no one had a minute to chat, so the Buyer headed out to find new thrifting territory.

This did not take long and her visits to unexplored shops resulted in some epic finds.

She collected the usual trims and lace of course, which the Designer adores and has already assigned to projects.

The blue trim will be used as fly fringe on one of the ladies' new gowns. The lace runner might become a cap with lappets for an earlier style. 

The next discovery was some kitchenware, including a clay jug, wooden bowl and ceramic flower pot. The nickle coin is for scale. The photo stylist thinks the ceramic pot will do nicely on a table, flowers or no.

The Buyer then scored a keepsake box that the ladies are squabbling over. The shoe for scale belongs to Addy, who needs something larger in which to store her treasures.

A very pretty rug was added to the shopping cart, woven in a Japanese theme. It looks quite interesting on the other side too. It is 16 inches long by 10 1/2 ins wide. The fringe needs some restoration or replacement. We'll see what the Designer thinks.

Always on the lookout for band boxes, the Buyer was delighted to find this example. It is 14 inches long, 10 1/2 ins wide, and 6 1/2 ins deep. It has plenty of room for the best find of the trip!

WIGS!

This was an unexpected windfall and the Buyer had to pause and breathe for a moment. There are 12 wigs of various sizes, style and colours. The Buyer is bragging to everyone and anyone that they were only $3.00 a piece. The hairstylist is already making drawings for some new coiffures for everyone.

Though not a thrift store, the Buyer was convinced to visit Michaels, where she simply had to purchase these happy pets for Arabella. Meet Muffin and Cookie.

There are a few other items the Buyer found that will be featured in another post. For the moment, she is having a lie down.
