It has been mentioned several times now that Adelaide has a big head, commensurate with her size. Addy's 1780's style wig needs some sort of storage to prevent it looking even messier than its period style dictates.
So far something large enough in hat or gift boxes has not turned up in the Buyer's usual haunts.

On one of her many thrifting trips, the Buyer found a candle holder that could be used for a hat stand. Trolling through the crafting section of a dollar store on the same day, and coming across styrofoam globes, she decided it would do for a wig stand instead. Good thing a measuring tape is always stored in her purse! Back at the shop, she handed over the candle stick and a styro ball just the right size, to the accessorist.

A small slice of the styrofoam was removed from the bottom of the ball to let it neatly sit in the candle platform. Then a few dots of super glue ensured it would remain in place.
Knowing how fragile styrofoam can be, the accessorist painted three layers of white glue on the ball. Some tissue paper will also be glued for strength if time allows.
The wig is heavier than it looks, so there is a search on for a metal washer or two to glue into the base for weight.
As it stands, excuse the pun, it works well. The wig is pinned down using a few easy to find corsage pins.

The designer is considering some metallic Sharpie pen decoration on the stand and is amusing herself researching what might work.
In the meantime, she chose supplies for the cordwainer to start on shoes for Addy. These included a tapestry like runner, faux leather with suede on one side, and some buttons to construct the heels. Addy approved of a slipper style shoe, or mules. Something casual that she can wear around the boudoir.
As you can see from the pictures below, Adelaide is pleased with the result. Some decorative bows and bijoux were offered to grace the shoes, but everyone likes them as they are.

The cordwainer's next challenge will be a pair of shoes to wear when Addy is fully gowned. The designer is also talking boots and shoes for Armand.
The shop completed stays for Addy this week as well. Pictures are posted in the What's New section and a blog about that project is in the works.
